Dave Dean Memorial Match

                                   DAVE JOHN DEAN

                17th OCTOBER 1959 - 24th AUGUST 2015

On Sunday 24th April 2016 a memorial cricket match took place at Wimborne Cricket Club between Wimborne CC and Dorset Over 50s CC in memory of Dave Dean a stalwart of both clubs with his daughter (Francesca), brother (Ken) who flew in from Brisbane, Australia and other members of the family and friends in attendance.

The aim of the day was to further celebrate "Deano's" life in a game that he loved "Cricket".  So it was fitting that the 2 Clubs that he represented at his passing (Wimborne & Colehill CC and Dorset 50+) should contest this Memorial Match in his honour.

The outcome of the match was a win by Dorset 50+ by 3 wkts.  However, it was the celebration of Deano's life in cricket which was more important than the game itself.  For the record, Wimborne CC were bowled out for 135 with the highlight of their innings was the brief appearance of Deano's brother Ken who scored 3 runs.  Dorset 50+ chased them down with 3 wkts still in hand.

The day is better explained in the way of photo's as follows:
